Diamonds in the Rough (a poem of inspiration)
More than a billion years long past, you were hidden under the earth's shell,
Formed from carbon... exposed to extreme heat and all greatest pressure.
Diamond lattice...beautiful crystals...you withstood the fires of time, so well.
Brought forth, upward, from hundreds of meters below, as a volcanic treasure.
You were formed from the earthen clay...before the marking of all time began,
Modeled in his own shape, and by your creator's touch...his own gentle hand.
Many faceted...your mind and body shaped...each one perfect, and so grand.,
Your complexity, guided by God of us all...able to meet life's every demand.
The diamond, hard shelled and roughened...strongly shaped, as toughened,
The human spirit...formed from the divine...as is so likened, of the same kind.
The multifaceted face of the gem, all to behold, a value of worth, to be untold.
The human being...God's own mystery, a jeweled history...own genius to find.
Every person, each a diamond in the rough, fashioned and shaped, in their worth,
Diamonds to shine and sparkle in their value...as all souls...born of the good earth.
Both a marvel and creation of splendor...to shine and glow...as from their sender.
The mighty fortress, God of all to be...maker of all worlds...and our great defender.
